Veteran comic illustrator Rod Whigham began his career in the mid 1980′With a talent for accurately rendering the likenesses of movie and TV celebrities, he has provided the artwork for some of pop cultures biggest hits, from his work on Star Trek and Men in Black to Terminator and Mission: Impossible.
In addition to Star Trek at DC Rod worked on both Justice League Quarterly and the The Flash but is perhaps best known for his work on the DC revival of two of the Pulps greatest heroes- the Shadow and Doc Savage.
At Marvel, Whigham worked on G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero as well as The Savage Sword of Conan, Psi-Force, Kickers Inc, Ghost Rider, The Punisher and Punisher 2099.
Rod has also done extensive work for independent publishers. At Renegade Press he was an assistant on Bob Bruden’s Flaming Carrot, at First Publishing he worked on both The Badger and Team Yankee. And at AC Comics he illustrated Bolt.
Building upon his considerable body of work on DC’s Star Trek: The Original Series he went on to draw Star Trek: Deep Space Nine for Malibu.
In 2008 Whigham succeeded Frank McLaughlin as the artist of the comic strip Gil Thorp for Tribune Media Syndicate.
